2011 Suzuki Swift


2011 Suzuki Swift will come with two engine options, 1.2-liter gasoline engine WT, and 1.3 liter diesel DDIS. Four-cylinder 16-valve petrol engine producing 93 horsepower (69 kW / 94 PS) and up to 118 Nm (87 ft-lb) of torque. Or, diesel with four-Banger 16V, producing 74 horsepower (55 kW / 75 PS) and up to 190 Nm (140 ft-lb) of torque.

The same five-speed manual transmission is used in both petrol and diesel-powered models, with suitably revised gear ratios for the diesel. It gives satisfyingly firm and quick gear shifting thanks to an enhanced linkage arrangement. Unusually for the Suzuki Swift's segment, the four-speed automatic available a standard on the five door 1.5-litre SZ4 has a gated shift lever design.

Suzuki Swift is robust and well equipped with safety features. The car's structure is inherently strong - awarded four stars for adult occupant protection by Euro NCAP when launched. It features extensive use of high tensile steel and tailored blanks to achieve strength without the penalty of added weight.


Suzuki Swift comes with an innovative sporty design and elegant with a genuine international appeal. Typical shape of the tailgate with the rear bumper incorporates a large lower body to give a solid appearance. At the top of the rear door, roof-shaped trailing edge to form a spoiler, improve aerodynamics and save valuable 1kg of a conventional bolt-on item.
